A departure from the norm of obscure noise and drone tapes, and an adventure into the hallowed halls of awesome Bandcamp obscura. This is some sitar based space rock, with lots of awesome sounding improvised grooves and other stuff that is of amusement. It's a good natured, and at times, beautiful album. Have fun with it, god only knows how I have. Think sitar based post-rock but IN SPAAAAAAAAACE.

Prototypical 70's Belgian band, DRAGON's music falls mostly in the hard progressive category with a psychy edge. For all the adepts of delicate and elaborated rock, this band displays a great richness, a great instrumental diversity (Mellotron, guitar, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, etc.) with some lightened guitar soli. They sound like a mix of IRON BUTTERFLY, URIAH HEEP, VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, and 70s Italian Art Rock.

Goblin - Suspiria (1977) {re-upload}

Goblin (also Back to the Goblin, New Goblin/Goblin Rebirth, the Goblin Keys and Simonetti's Goblin) is anItalian progressive rock band known for their soundtrack work. They frequently collaborate with Dario Argento, most notably creating soundtracks for Profondo Rosso in 1975 and Suspiria in 1977. CD re-releases of their soundtracks have performed well, especially in Germany and Japan. Goblin returned with a series of live concerts in Europe in 2009 and in North America in 2013.

Initially named Cherry Five, the band has been influenced by Genesis and King Crimson. Their early work spawned oneeponymous progressive rock record, and they were then called in to compose the soundtrack for Profondo Rosso. The band changed their name to Goblin, rewriting most of the score, originally written by Giorgio Gaslini including the famous main theme. The 1975 soundtrack album was a huge hit.[where?] After a reshuffle in their line-up, and they put out an instrumental progressive rock album Roller, before working with Argento again for 1977's Suspiria. Other film soundtracks and a concept album (Il Fantastico Viaggio Del Bagarozzo Mark) followed, then the score for the European version of George A. Romero's 1978 Dawn of the Dead. Tracks 1, 2 and 5 from the European version are also in the American version of the album.

Despite their success, membership continued to be a revolving door, and the band also struggled to maintain their credibility. The remaining members continued to work on further soundtracks, and there was a partial reunification for Argento's Tenebrae (1982) (although each member of the band was credited separately, not as Goblin). The last collaboration with the director took place in 2000, with the film Non ho sonno (Sleepless).

Can - Soundtracks (Germany Krautrock 1970)

Can biography
CAN is one of a few internationally known "Krautrock" groups; they are famous for their repetitive and hallucinatory sound. CAN was founded in 1968 by LIEBEZEIT, Irmin SCHMIDT and Holger CZUKAY, and in their early days they also included American singer Malcolm MOONEY or Japanese vocalist Damo SUZUKI. They transformed progressive-rock into a science. By bridging classical music, jazz music and rock music of their times, CAN accomplished the first organic study on rhythm and texture. Their hypnotic and glacial instrumental jams straddled the line between free-jazz, acid-rock and chamber music. CAN's music can be difficult to appreciate, yet their albums offer some of the best experimental rock ever recorded. Then there are always the myths, the legends and the fascination.

Here's a synopsis of most of their albums. I can recommend "Delay" through to Soon over Babaluma. "Delay" was the first album recorded although it was not released until 1981. Most of their albums are great, particularly "Monster Movie", "Soundtracks", "Tago Mago", "Future Days", and "Ege Bamyasi". After "Soon over Babaluma" I'd say forget it as CAN loose there fresh approach for which they were reknown. 1997 becomes the year where other musicians show the timeless aspect of CAN's music in the new remix album "Sacrilege". And this is the Sound of CAN in the nineties.

"Limited" and "Unlimited Edition" are a collection from 1968 to 1974. In the autumn of 1978, a double CD retrospective "Cannibalism 1" was issued on United Artists, and, for many, still stands today as the definitive CAN collection. It drew from the band's first six albums, but a tremendous sampling of songs from their essential early albums. "Cannibalism 1" is the best CD to buy to first experience the incredible music of CAN.

CAN's legacy still resounds clearly across the landscape of contemporary music. As Julian Cope concludes, "CAN will be remembered as one of the great 20th century bands. I've listened to their music for over 23 years, and I still freak out at their staying power... Every one of CAN's members is a hero, and a true star."

Can was a German experimental rock band formed in Cologne, West Germany, in 1968. Later labeled as one of the first krautrock groups, they transcended mainstream influences and incorporated strong minimalist and world music elements into their often psychedelic music.

It was recorded on that old 4-tracker in Summer/Fall 1997 and was produced by
Peter Scion himself.

He plays acoustic guitar, slide guitar, cello, harmonium, harmonica and maraccas.
He also sings and sleeps too little.

Riff Raff was a British progressive rock band formed by keyboardist Tommy Eyre in 1972. The band was a continuation on the back of drummers (and Harrow School of Art friends) Rod Coombes and Joe Czarnecki's (aka Joe Peter)'s project originally called 'Crikey' which started in 1969 and completed in 1970, when Coombes had to accept growing tour commitments with Juicy Lucy. These sessions comprised half of the Riff Raff album Outside Looking In, in which Coombes wrote half the songs.

Riff Raff later went on to release two albums to lukewarm response; however, their use of jazz and hard-edged rock garnered them a large underground following. Riff Raff also released the single "Copper Kettle

Live Alive is an electric blues album compiled from four live performances by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The performances were recorded on July 16, 1985 at the Montreux Jazz Festival; July 17–18, 1986 at the Austin Opera House; and July 19, 1986 at Dallas Starfest. Much of the album was overdubbed in the studio[2]

The 1985 Montreux performance was much better received than the 1982 visit, when some of the crowd booed Vaughan's hard blues sound. The song selection for Live Alive displays many of SRV's biggest influences: Jimi Hendrix("Voodoo Child (Slight Return)"), Stevie Wonder ("Superstition"), Howlin' Wolf ("Commit a Crime"), and Buddy Guy("Mary Had a Little Lamb").

"I'm Leaving You (Commit a Crime)" is incorrectly credited on the album to C. Burnett, better known as Howlin' Wolf. Although Howlin' Wolf was the first to record the song on the album The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions, it was written byJames Oden. The title is also incorrect, because "I'm Leaving You" is a completely different song by Howlin' Wolf. The song is originally titled "What a Woman!", but is released in 1981 (after Wolf's dead) as "Commit a Crime" on the album "All Night Boogie". It is not unlikely that the title used on Live Alive was an honest mistake, since the lyrics start with "I'm leaving you woman, before I commit a crime". When Kenny Wayne Shepherd records the song for his 1995 albumLedbetter Heights he carries on the mistake and uses Stevie Ray Vaughan's title for the song, and also credits Howlin' Wolf as the writer.

Solstice - New dark age (1998)

Solstice is an epic doom metal band from Dewsbury, England, founded by Rich Walker after the breaking up of his previous hardcore punk / grindcore bands Sore Throat and Warfear. Together with Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus, Solstice is responsible for expanding upon epic doom metal.[citation needed]

Rich Walker also used to run The Miskatonic Foundation, a record label dedicated to doom metal and traditional heavy metal. It has now since dissolved due to lack of time.

Ο Οδυσσέας Ελύτης (Ηράκλειο Κρήτης 2 Νοεμβρίου 1911 - Αθήνα 18 Μαρτίου 1996), (πραγματικό ονοματεπώνυμοΟδυσσέας Αλεπουδέλλης), ήταν ένας από τους σημαντικότερους Έλληνες ποιητές, μέλος της λογοτεχνικής γενιάς του '30. Διακρίθηκε το 1960 με το Κρατικό Βραβείο Ποίησης και το 1979 με το βραβείο Νόμπελ Λογοτεχνίας, ο δεύτερος και τελευταίος μέχρι σήμερα Έλληνας που τιμήθηκε με βραβείο Νόμπελ. Γνωστότερα ποιητικά του έργα είναι τα Άξιον Εστί,Ήλιος ο πρώτος, Προσανατολισμοί κ.α. Διαμόρφωσε ένα προσωπικό ποιητικό ιδίωμα και θεωρείται ένας από τους ανανεωτές της ελληνικής ποίησης. Gabor Szabo - Mizrab (1972)

Here, Gabor Szabo ambitiously pairs his outstanding quintet (featuring Jimmy Stewart) with Gary McFarland's subtle string and horn arrangements in a collection of originals, pop covers, and classical reinterpretations. The result is a sort of accessible third-stream music. Szabo has many fine moments, and provides nice spaces for the beautiful guitar solos of Jimmy Stewart. 


Gabor Szabo, who always had an original sound on the guitar (displaying his Hungarian heritage), is backed by a string section, horns and a rhythm section (including bassist Ron Carter and either Billy Cobham or Jack DeJohnette on drums) on this Bob James production. For the program which has not yet reissued on CD, Szabo performs two originals, a pair of pop tunes and an adaptation of a Shostakovich  classical concerto. The music is well played but not particularly memorable.

Πέρα από το λογοτεχνικό του έργο, ασχολήθηκε επίσης με τη ζωγραφική και τη μουσική.

Albert Camus - Ο μύθος του σίσυφου

Ο Σίσυφος ήταν μια πολύ ξεχωριστή προσωπικότητα της ελληνικής μυθολογίας. Ο Σίσυφος ήταν ιδρυτής και βασιλιάς της αρχαίας Εφύρας, που στη συνέχεια ονομάστηκε Κόρινθος.

Όλα άρχισαν όταν ο Δίας αποπλάνησε την Αίγινα. Η Αίγινα ήταν κόρη του ποταμού και θεού Ασωπού. Ο Ασωπός ζήτησε από τον Σίσυφο να του πει τι γνωρίζει και αυτός συμφώνησε αφού ο Ασωπός για αντάλλαγμα του έταξε ότι μια πηγή με νερό θα αναβλύζει ασταμάτητα από την ακρόπολη της πόλης του.

Ο Σίσυφος γνώριζε πολλά για την υπόθεση και τα είπε στον Ασωπό. Στη συνέχεια ο Ασωπός καταδίωξε τον Δία. Αφού ο Δίας γλίτωσε, αποφάσισε να τιμωρήσει το Σίσυφο. Έτσι έστειλε τον Σίσυφο στον Άδη.

Όμως τότε ο Σίσυφος απέδειξε την εξυπνάδα και την πονηριά του καταφέρνοντας να φυλακίσει τον Άδη. Τότε όμως έγινε κάτι πρωτοφανές. Ο Άδης αδυνατούσε να πάρει τις ψυχές των θανάσιμα τραυματισμένων ανθρώπων και ζώων, ο κόσμος γέμιζε σιγά-σιγά από τραυματισμένα, ακρωτηριασμένα και ανήμπορα έμψυχα όντα. Οι θεοί αναστατώθηκαν και ο Άρης ελευθέρωσε τον Άδη από τα δεσμά του, στέλνοντας ξανά τον Σίσυφο στον Άδη.

Πάλι όμως ο Σίσυφος είχε προνοήσει. Είχε πει στη γυναίκα του να μη θάψει το σώμα του. Έτσι ζήτησε από τον Άδη τρεις μέρες για να επιστρέψει στη γη και να φροντίσει το ζήτημα. Ο Άδης δέχτηκε το αίτημα του Σίσυφου, όμως ο τελευταίος δεν επέστρεψε. Έτσι ήρθε η σειρά του Ερμή να τον πάει στον Άδη.

Ο Σίσυφος τιμωρήθηκε για όλη αυτή τη συμπεριφορά. Οι «κριτές των νεκρών» του έβαλαν ως βασανιστήριο να κουβαλάει ένα βράχο στην κορυφή ενός βουνού. Φτάνοντας στην κορυφή, η πέτρα δεν σταθεροποιείτο και έπεφτε από την άλλη. Αυτή η τιμωρία είναι αιώνια για τον «νικητή» του Άδη.

Η έννοια του παραλόγου και η σχέση ανάμεσα στο παράλογο και την αυτοκτονία αποτελούν τα θέματα αυτού του δοκιμίου. Από τη στιγμή που ο άνθρωπος παραδέχεται τη διάσταση ανάμεσα στη λογική επιθυμία του για κατανόηση και ευτυχία και στη σιωπή του κόσμου, μπορεί άραγε να κρίνει αν η ζωή αξίζει τον κόπο να την ζει κανείς; Τούτο είναι θεμελιώδες ερώτημα της φιλοσοφίας.
Αν όμως το παράλογο μου φαίνεται πρόδηλο, οφείλω να το διατηρήσω με μια διαυγή προσπάθεια και να δεχτώ να ζήσω βιώνοντάς το. Η εξέγερσή μου, η ελευθερία, το πάθος μου, θα είναι οι συνέπειές του. Ο άνθρωπος, σίγουρος ότι θα πεθάνει ολοκληρωτικά, αρνούμενος όμως το θάνατο, λυτρωμένος από την υπερφυσική ελπίδα που του έδενε τα χέρια, θα μπορέσει να γνωρίσει το πάθος της ζωής σ' έναν κόσμο δοσμένο στην αδιαφορία του και στη φθαρτή ομορφιά του. Όμως η δημιουργία είναι για εκείνον η καλύτερη ευκαιρία για να διατηρεί τη συνείδησή του άγρυπνη μπροστά στις λαμπερές και αλόγιστες εικόνες του κόσμου. Ο αγώνας του Σισύφου που περιφρονεί τους θεούς, αγαπά τη ζωή και μισεί το θάνατο γίνεται το σύμβολο της ανθρώπινης μοίρας.

Love Peace & Poetry (American Psychedelic Music 60s & 70s)

Love, Peace and Poetry is a consistently high-quality series, with eight volumes to date covering almost all of the world. The focus here is on psychedelia, with most of the recordings coming from the late sixties and early seventies. The tracks included in the Love, Peace and Poetry comps are all from LPs rather than singles, and these clearly come from a deep collection. These collections have very little overlap with any other series out there. Each volume of this series is well documented and the tracks are varied and well chosen. A particularly nice touch is that each volume includes information on obtaining original records or reissues, as well as other psych related contacts. One ironic note is that the cover art does not display the same variety as the music on the comps. All of the covers feature the same person, Cheryl Shrode, who was a Playboy bunny featured on the cover of the April, 1967, issue. No nude shots included in any of the Love, Peace and Poetry covers, though. According to the liner notes, these shots were taken in 1968. No explanation is given for the obsession with Cheryl Shrode, except that one of her hobbies was underground music (along with designing clothes, cooking Asian food and writing poetry). If she is the Love, Peace and Poetry muse then it's all to the good. You really can't go wrong with any volume in this series.
