Σπύρος Περιστέρης (Spyros Peristeris) -Συλλογή (Collection)

Ο Σπύρος Περιστέρης (1900 - 15 Μαρτίου 1966) ήταν Έλληνας μουσικός και συνθέτης με μικρασιατική καταγωγή.

Βιογραφία
Γεννήθηκε στη Σμύρνη το 1900 από Έλληνα πατέρα και Ιταλίδα μητέρα. Άρχισε από μικρός να μαθαίνει μαντολίνο και μετά την εγκατάσταση της οικογένειάς του στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, γύρω στο 1915, κατόρθωσε να τελειώσει την Ιταλική Σχολή και να μάθει ιταλικά και γερμανικά.

Μετά το θάνατο του Βασίλειου Σιδερή, το 1918, επανήλθε στη Σμύρνη και ανέλαβε, σε ηλικία 18 ετών, την ευθύνη της Σμυρνέικης Εστουδιαντίνας, που είχε γίνει διάσημη σ`όλη την Ευρώπη και έμεινε γνωστή με το όνομα "Τα Πολιτάκια". Τον τίτλο αυτό χρησιμοποίησε στις αρχές του '30, όταν παίζοντας στην ορχήστρα του Υπερωκεανίου "Μέγας Αλέξανδρος", ηχογράφησε στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες κάποια οργανικά κομμάτια, με το ψευδώνυμο Σ. Γεωργιάδης. Η εμφάνισή του στη δισκογραφία γίνεται το 1927.Δικά του είναι τα ρεμπέτικα τραγούδια, όπως "Ο ιππότης", "Η μποέμισσα", "Τα Μπελεντέρια", "Ο τεκετζής", και τα "Ο μάγκας του Βοτανικού" και "Πίνω και μεθώ" (Οφ Αμάν), με τον Ζαχαρία Κασιμάτη.

Ο Σπύρος Περιστέρης ήταν ο άνθρωπος που σχεδόν με το ζόρι έβαλε τον Μάρκο Βαμβακάρη να ηχογραφήσει τη φωνή του όταν το 1933 πραγματοποιήθηκε η πρώτη εμπορική ηχογράφηση μπουζουκιού στο βινύλιο. Σε πάρα πολλές ηχογραφήσεις του Βαμβακάρη ο Περιστέρης συμμετέχει στην ορχήστρα όπου το τρίδυμο Μάρκος και Περιστέρης στα μπουζούκια και Κώστας Σκαρβέλης στην κιθάρα ήταν αχτύπητο. Κάποια τραγούδια που έγραψε ο Περιστέρης γίνονται επιτυχίες με τη φωνή του Βαμβακάρη ("Ο Αντώνης ο βαρκάρης ο σερέτης", "Η Μαρία η Μανταλένα", "Μες στον οντά ενός πασά"). Κάποια τραγούδια πού βρέθηκαν στο δικό του όνομα (μουσική) και του Μίνωος Μάτσα (στίχοι) αποτελούν συνθέσεις άλλων καλλιτεχνών κυρίως του Μάρκου Βαμβακάρη χωρίς όμως να στοιχειοθετείται καπηλεία πνευματικής δημιουργίας αλλά για άλλη σκοπιμότητα. Ο Περιστέρης έπαιζε άριστα όλα τα έγχορδα όργανα με τάστα, πιάνο, ακορντεόν και κοντραμπάσο.

Παντρεύτηκε το 1921 και απέκτησε δύο γιους. Πέθανε τον Μάρτιο του 1966 στην Αθήνα.

Camel - On the Road - 1972

Camel are an English progressive rock band formed in 1971. Led by founding member Andrew Latimer, they have produced fourteen original studio albums, fourteen singles plus numerous compilation and live albums. Although never achieving mass popularity, the band managed to create a cult following over the years with albums such as Mirage, The Snow Goose and Moonmadness. The band went through a long hiatus in the 1980s due to the rise of punk rock, less coverage in the media and personal problems with the band members; they became active again in the early 1990s.[1]

The band's music combines elements from jazz, classical, Baroque music, blues and electronic music

Coverdale & Page - 1993 - Coverdale & Page

Coverdale•Page was a musical collaboration featuring Whitesnake and former Deep Purple lead vocalist David Coverdale, and former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

The project between the two artists commenced in 1991 at the suggestion of American A&R executive John Kalodner, as both artists were signed to Geffen Records at the time in North America.

Their debut album, Coverdale/Page was released on 15 March 1993, reaching No. 4 in the UK and No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Five singles were released to promote the album: "Pride and Joy", "Shake My Tree", "Take Me for a Little While", "Take a Look at Yourself" and "Over Now".

The album was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of the LP, CD & Cassette in excess of 500,000 copies[1] and eventually went Platinum.[2] The album also received the official Japanese Sony Music in-house award for sales in excess of 150,000 copies in Japan[3]as well as the EMI in-house sales award for sales in excess of 60,000 copies in the UK.[4]

Prior to the formation of the duo, Page's former Led Zeppelin bandmate Robert Plant had been reluctant to reunite with Page.[5] In interviews at the time, Plant expressed some derision at the guitarist's collaboration with Coverdale, referring to the project as ‘David Cover-version’.[6][7]

An American arena tour was planned for the summer of 1993, but after sluggish ticket sales the tour was scrapped in favour of a series of concerts in Japan, after which the partnership was dissolved.[citation needed] Page subsequently teamed up with Plant for an "UnLedded" MTV project and Coverdale returned to Whitesnake.

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain (1971)

Funkadelic is an American band that was most prominent during the 1970s. The band and its sister act Parliament, both led by George Clinton, pioneered the funk music culture of that decade.[3][1] Relative to its sister act, Funkadelic pursued a heavier, psychedelic rock-oriented sound.
Maggot Brain is the third studio album by the American funk band Funkadelic. It was recorded at United Sound Systems in Detroit during late 1970 and early 1971,[1] before being released in July 1971 by Westbound Records. Shortly after Maggot Brain was recorded, Tawl Ross, Eddie Hazel, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band for various reasons.

Electric Moon - Stardust Rituals - 2017

Electric Moon biography
Founded in Germany in 2009

ELECTRIC MOON came into existence in 2009 - a new project with cosmic traveller Sula Bassana as the driving force. Bassist Komet Lulu, illustrator on top of that and responsible for corporate design and artwork is aboard as well as Pablo Carneval (drums).

In 2010 they worked out their debut 'Lunatics', released on German Nasoni label and consisting of long spacey trips in the vein of earlier output with Sula Bassana involved, energetic and hypnotic as is well known, however this time with the focus on a more groovy and acid approach.

The Vint... Carav... - Arrival (2015)

The Vintage Caravan are a rock band from Álftanes, Iceland. The band was formed in 2006 by Óskar Logi Ágústsson and Guðjón Reynisson before bassist Alexander Örn Númason joined after the first studio album. There has been just one line-up change since the founding of the band when Stefán Ari Stefánsson replaced Guðjón Reynisson on drums in 2015. The band have released three studio albums.The Vintage Caravan are known for their energetic stage performance and have been very active live for the past few years. Since 2011 the band has released two LPs with the latter being released by one of the largest record labels in Iceland, Sena which they made a deal with in early 2012. That same year bassist Alex Örn joined the group.

Musical influences are very diverse but mainly include the classic hard rock of the 60's and 70's. Though the influence may suggest a glorified retro-type band, The Vintage Caravan do it in their own way with a powerful attitude and a modern twist
